A Journey Through Our Company's Milestones

Kisanveer Satara Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd., Bhuinj, Taluka Wai, District Satara, is one of Maharashtra’s most prominent co-operative sugar factories. Established in 1968 under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960, the factory came into being through the determined efforts of the late Freedom Fighter Kisan Mahadev Veer (Abasaheb Veer), a respected leader from Wai Taluka. His vision gave rise to a cooperative institution that empowered farmers and transformed rural livelihoods.
The establishment of Kisanveer Karkhana was the outcome of a historic farmer’s movement in Wai—a movement that emphasized unity, self-reliance, and prosperity for agriculturists. Built on these values, the factory has consistently worked to ensure fair opportunities for sugarcane growers while driving socio-economic development across the region.

Our Growth and Scale

Under the guidance of our Chairman, Hon. Shri Makarand Laxmanrao Jadhav-Patil, MLA (Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation, Maharashtra State), and Vice Chairman Hon. Shri Pramod Bhanudas Shinde, Kisanveer Karkhana has emerged as a model of cooperative strength, technological progress, and farmer-focused development.
  • Crushing Capacity: 4000 TCD (Tonnes of Cane per Day)
  • Shareholders: 63,950 members representing 540 villages across Wai, Khandala, Satara, Jawali, Koregaon, and Mahabaleshwar talukas
  • Workforce: 809 employees working under the Commissioner of Sugar guidelines
  • Average Cane Yield: 85–90 MT per hectare across our well-irrigated command area

Diversification and Innovation

  • Recognizing the importance of sustainability and modernization, Kisanveer Karkhana has consistently invested in advanced projects:
    Co-Generation: A 22 MW bagasse-based co-generation plant supplying green energy
  • Distillery and Ethanol Production: A 60 KLPD ENA plant, a 100 KLPD RS plant, and a newly commissioned 80 KLPD ethanol unit supporting India’s ethanol blending program
  • Digital Transformation: ERP implementation and cane bridge automation for enhanced efficiency and transparency
